Chinese Antique Column Base
These bases formed the base of 4 seperate columns erected in the court yard in an old library building in the city of Ningbo Zhejiang Province. the library was constructed approxiately 400 years ago during the late Ming Dynasty. the library contained books and scroos over 500 years old and was the main library used by scholars in teh region for over 400 years. the library was neglected and fell into disrepair during the Mao Zhedong period and was finally demolished in the year 2000.
